Step	Guidelines for Measuring Stairs
1	Looking upward from the bottom of the stair, determine if panels will go on the right or left side.	Stair type (circle one)	R or L
2	Measure tread width *	Tread width
3	Measure riser height *	Riser height
4	Measure overhang/nosing *	Overhang/nosing
5	Measure the diagonal length of the finish stringer in inches.	Diagonal length of stringer
6	Measure the height of the finish stringer (top and bottom)	Height of finish stringer	Top: Bottom:
* Measure to nearest 1/8". Measure four or more steps and choose the most common measurement. (steps 2, 3, & 4)
